Because of its extensive and profound theory and accurate clinical efficacy,traditional medicine has handed down from generations.? Human civilization has entered the 21st century. Development of modern science and technology, social progress, alteration of human living environments and the aging of population have resulted in the changes of disease spectrum and mode of medical science.Nowadays how traditional medicine could realize modernization is a question need to be discussed.

With the coming of information age, people have accepted the concept of global village. Therefore, it is of great significance on how to make the most of the unique advantages of traditional medicine scientifically and effectively, and to bring traditional medicine into full play in medical and health care, for developing and utilizing medical and health resources and bettering the health level of mankind. Certainly, different countries have different kinds of traditional medicines. So how to follow WHO’s strategies and draw up the international standards for traditional medicine theory and skills is a problem needs solving.

In 2006, we have held up the first forum successfully and thanks for some experts to participate in it. We cordially invite the experts and researchers from domestic and that of international to participate in the forum. We are earnest to try our best to carry forward and expand the influence of TCM.

We believe that this forum will be a good opportunity to communicate with the experts, share their experience and exchange ideas.

Contents of the forum:

l        The function and role the high-tech plays in traditional medicine.

l        The comparative study of traditional medicine and modern medicine.

l        How to make full advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating modern major diseases.

l        History, situation and development trend of traditional medicine in all over the world.

l        How to cultivate international T.C.M. talents.

l        How to realize internationalization of traditional medicine.

l        Standardization of clinical practice of traditional medicine and technical terms, etc.

l       Legal status and lawmaking trend of traditional medicine.

l        Other issues about traditional medicine.

Requirement of Articles:

1.      Papers must be written in English.  A Chinese and English abstract within 500 words is necessary.  The first author's brief-introduction, telephone and fax numbers, email address should be attached to the end of the paper.

2.      Papers should be sent by email or fax.

3.      Please date the envelope or the email topic bar with “submission for Shuguang International Forum on Traditional Medicine (2008) ”.

4.      The conference has a schedule of presentation during the meeting.  Form of communications can be informed after the examination of manuscripts by the organizing committee.  Please prepare for the presentation with a PowerPoint.

5.      The deadline for articles is 5th March, 2008.

Forum Fee:

A.     The registration fee is free.

B.     The participator is responsible for his own expenses on accommodation and international travel.

Registration Requirement:

The registration form (the form copied is also effective) should be filled in and then posted or E-mail it to the organizing committee before 5th March, 2008.
